Fashion trends are notoriously fickle. As soon as you find a look that you love, we’re all on to the next trend. Is it micro-frames? Is it tinted lenses? Is it vibrant acetates? Is it metals? Right now the answer is: YES – to all of them. It’s a season rife with stylish extremes from one end of the spectrum to the other. It’s an “anything-goes” moment that we’re living for. One of the extremes we’re loving most right now is the Bigger Is Better trend we’re seeing in optical and sunglass frames. A few of our designers are dipping their toes in the oversized arena, but the title of reigning Queen of the trend, in our minds? None other than frame-ophile Victoria Beckham.

Though his eponymous line has been adorning the faces of the social Elite for over a decade, it’s only been in the past few years that the Thierry Lasry brand has truly skyrocketed, largely because fashion trends have taken a while to catch up to Lasry’s unwavering dedication to his design muse: the ‘80s.
This year, the NYC Eyewear Expo was bigger and better than ever. Between the gorgeous new looks, the incredible booths, and the very glamorous chauffeured cars (thank you Kering!), Holly set off for five intense days of meeting, greeting, and scouting the very best designer eyewear out there.
